FAQs About Exercise Physiology

  • Exercise Physiology is a specialised discipline that applies science-backed principles to understand how our bodies respond to physical activity and exercise. The comprehensive scope of this field extends beyond the realm of general fitness, delving deep into the biological and physical reactions at play in both healthy and diseased states. This allows exercise to maintain health, manage chronic conditions, and improve physical performance.

An Exercise Physiologist plays a pivotal role in this field. They aren't your typical fitness trainers. Their in-depth knowledge and honed skills equip them to design tailored exercise programs which account for your unique health status, fitness levels, and personal aspirations. This customised approach to exercise ensures you can achieve your health goals safely and efficiently.

Whether you aim to manage chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia and arthritis, recover from sports injuries through exercise rehabilitation, improve heart health, or control conditions like diabetes and obesity, Exercise Physiology offers the science-led pathway to reach these targets. It's the intersection of exercise, health, and the science of human physiology, all brought together to empower individuals on their journey toward improved health and wellness.

  • Visiting an Exercise Physiologist at Rebound Health can yield an array of health benefits. We design bespoke exercise programs for individuals, enabling them to manage and even reduce chronic pain, including conditions like low back pain and arthritis. We're experts in exercise rehabilitation, focusing on preventing and rehabilitating sports injuries and assisting with cardiac rehabilitation, including those recovering from strokes and heart-related interventions like stents.

Moreover, we help manage diseases such as Type 1 & Type 2 diabetes and obesity by providing practical strategies for weight loss. Patients undergoing or following cancer treatment, including breast and prostate, can also benefit from our individually-tailored programs. Exercise physiologists guide you through physical activities and aid in setting realistic health goals and coaching you to achieve them.
